Homemade is the way to go as it is natural and healthy compared to the brands on the market which often contain up to 50% dried fruit and are very high in calories. They are cleverly marketed to make you think that they are healthy for you, so be careful not to be misguided as they can also full of sugar, honey, syrup or other sweeteners.
This recipe yields 10 portions.
Ingredients:
100g organic jumbo oats
100g organic rye flakes
100g organic barley flakes
100g organic unsweetened toasted coconut flakes
100g quinoa flakes
100g almonds, roughly chopped
100g sunflower seeds
100 g pumpkin seeds
100g sesame seeds
50g flax seeds (brown linseeds)
50g chia seeds
5 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
Method:
In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients together.
To serve, spoon a portion into a bowl, pour over milk of your choice and top with some chopped fresh fruit.
* Store in an airtight container or mason jar for up to 3 months.
